This past January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Ford put up quite a display with a wide range of features, including what it called the Innovation Park. Ford’s Innovation Park included water and plant elements to show how Ford is working to reduce its waste and emissions and work harder to use organic materials.
Now, Ford is donating parts of the “park” to both Belle Isle Park and North Star Reach. Belle Isle Park will receive plants, trees, and flowers; while Ford is giving forty sections of concrete to North Star Reach, a nonprofit that provides a year-round camp for children with serious illnesses. The concrete slabs will form a central gathering place overlooking Patterson Lake.
“We are thrilled to bring the Park home to North Star Reach for our campers and families to enjoy for generations to come,” said North Star Reach founder and CEO Doug Armstrong, in a statement. “Our construction team is ensuring the Park will be installed to be universally accessible for all campers.”
Here at Morristown Ford, we think it is great that Ford is donating parts of its Innovation Park to both of these organizations.
