The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 continues to add to its growing list of awards with its recent receipt of the Altair Enlighten Award presented by Altair and the Center for Automotive Research (CAR).
The F-150 was selected for the third annual award because of its innovative lightweight construction leading to decreased truck weight.
The popular pickup is constructed of high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy and high-strength steel. As a result, the new 2015 F-150 is Ford’s toughest model ever, boasting the best towing, payload, and fuel economy rating in its class while shedding 700 pounds. In addition, the model is distinguished as a Five-Star Vehicle for Overall Safety by the NHTSA.
“We are excited to present Ford with the 2015 Altair Enlighten Award,” said vice president of Global Automotive at Altair, Dave Mason. “The judges recognized Ford’s best-in-class innovation with the company’s approach to weight reduction by incorporating advanced materials and design technologies for the F-150.”
