Uses for Old Tires

Old tires aren’t something you can just throw out in the weekly trash, so it isn’t surprising the often end up in the back of the garage. Instead of taking up space, what if those tires could be used for something else? As it turns out, with a little elbow grease and paint, they can! Here are some uses for old tires from us here at Morristown Ford:

  1. Tire Swing – A classic use for an old tire, all you need is some chain or rope and a tall tree. Once your kids catch sight of the swing, they won’t be able to stay off of it. Add a little paint, or let your kids paint it, for a unique, eye-catching look!
  2. Tire Climb – Playground equipment can be expensive but if you have a few old tires lying around, odds are you can create your own jungle gym. Gather some paint and paint the tires. Stack them up however you (or your kids) want and bolt them together so they don’t move.
  3. Planters – If you’ve got a green thumb, then re-purposing old tires into planters is right for you. Add some dirt and paint to create a beautiful, personalized do-it-yourself garden that will leave you neighbors asking for tips!
